In the end, Battalion Wars Wii is just a sequel that doesn’t accomplish enough to elevate an already enjoyable series to the next level. The presentation is rather pleasing, the length of the missions is just ideal, and there have been a few improvements made in the shape of additional units and an online multiplayer mode. However, there is a noticeable lack of offline multiplayer, which is a huge drawback. Additionally, the game’s gameplay mechanics are fragmented, which makes its classification as a “tactical” action game fit as awkwardly as if a size zero model were wearing clown pants.
If you played and enjoyed the previous game, there is a good chance that you will also enjoy Wii. If you’ve never participated in the series before, I recommend giving it a shot before investing in the full version.
