Next spring, Nintendo will release Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the Wii home videogame system, giving users the ability to live out their Jedi ambitions by using the Wii Remote as a lightsaber and the Nunchuk to punish enemies with their Force abilities.

As Darth Vader’s “Secret Apprentice,” players in The Force Unleashed will learn new facts about the Star Wars universe. The extensive narrative of the game takes place between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, a time period that has not yet been fully explored. Players will help the infamous antagonist in his mission to purge the universe of Jedi while taking decisions that could alter their future.

The Wii version, which Krome Studios is creating, will also have a unique duel mode where players can go head-to-head with their friends to see who is the greatest Jedi Master.

According to Jim Ward, president of LucasArts, “The Wii is a terrific platform for The Force Unleashed because the console’s motion-oriented controls truly bring the game to life.” We’ve put a lot of effort into making the Wii edition of the game special so that you may fully unleash the Force.
